More about this product

Cavalor has reinvented its solution for fighting mud fever! More than 10 essential oils work together to relieve pain and to disinfect and heal the sores. Cavalor MudDoc is a fast-acting and unique combination of various essential oils including Aloe vera, lavender, eucalyptus, and tea tree oils.

Cavalor MudDoc is a versatile way to treat mud fever. Its antiseptic properties make the pastern an unpleasant environment for the bacteria that cause mud fever, while its wound-healing and pain-relieving properties improve the horse’s well-being.

It also stimulates blood circulation for faster recovery. Cavalor MudDoc improves skin elasticity, minimises scar tissue formation and accelerates hair regrowth. Keeping skin supple is important in preventing it from cracking.

DID YOU KNOW?

Mud fever is without a doubt the most recognisable skin condition in horses. Mud fever is actually a non-specific collection of skin inflammations (dermatitis) that occur primarily in the horse’s pastern. In severe cases it can lead to swelling in the leg and will not heal on its own if left untreated. In extreme cases, mud fever can lead to lameness.

The most noticeable symptoms are redness, scaling, scabs, and cracks to the skin of the pastern. This area is often warm and moist, so that bacteria can quickly multiply there.

Mud fever can be caused by a variety of factors. It can be caused by dirt, mud, insects, or from frequent washing of cracked skin prone to bacterial infections. Fungal infections, scabies mites, and sunburn can also be the causes. When the horse moves, its pasterns are constantly in movement as well. This makes it difficult for the skin there to heal.
